Jen Kiehl, a native New Yorker, holds her BSN and is a proud Penn State graduate. After working in Health Care leadership roles across many service lines, she returned to school and completed her MBA to develop a higher level of expertise in the business and operations aspects of healthcare.
Jen began her hospice leadership career in 2004 as a Director of Clinical Services for a start-up hospice in rural PA and has worked in regional and national hospice positions since 2007. Most recently she served as the Chief Operating Officer for a multi-state hospice and palliative care organization. She has worked with both small and large for-profit and non-profit organizations.
Jen has been sharing her expertise in operations, leadership, eligibility and clinical strategy as an independent consultant since 2016. She has expertise in hospice, palliative and home health operations, clinical services and compliance.
It is Jen’s philosophy that the growth of a successful home-based care program is dependent on solid clinical practices, strong eligibility knowledge base across all disciplines and the highest quality and compliance standards. There are no sales in healthcare, census is built upon collaborative relationships that are founded in service excellence and value. Growth is only a small component of a successful organization. To effectively lead a great program, it is essential that managers understand, evaluate, and drive all of the different components that measure organizational excellence: financial, quality, clinical, census, and many more. Without this global leadership perspective, hospices and other healthcare organizations cannot remain viable in an increasingly competitive market.
Jen is a member of HPNA and AIHC. Outside of her intense passion for excellence in health care and leadership, Jen resides in the rural area outside of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with her family.
